“I currently use a Bose headset for air travel and while the noise canceling is wonderful, they are not comfortable for anything over 3hrs. I know these won't be as good, but do they provide any practical noise canceling for the constant airplane drone?”

Not at all. Since the bone conduction concept is having the ear completely open, all external sounds are not blocked. Not recommended for noisy environments.

When traveling on an airplane, or in an environment with a lot of ambient noise, we recommend using earbuds to block out ambient noise, as these do have an open-ear design.
