I work in very loud area, would I be able to listen to a book over the noise? null

I work with equipment run by an air compressor. I tend to pause my book when the compressor turns on because it will cover the sound of the book I am listening to. However, I believe that if you are in an environment that is just generally louder you may be able to set your volume higher and still be able to hear the book. 
I love my set. This is the second brand of bone conduction I have purchased and these are twenty times better then the first brand I tried. The battery will last my entire work day. They are light, comfortable, and very easy to use. I love having volume control on them as well as the button for pausing, playing, or answering a call.

If you have earplugs in while working, then definitely. I also work in a loud environment.

I doubt it. These headphones leave the ear open, allowing a majority of outside sound through.
