You can lie down on your side but not straight back.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Others might disagree, but I cannot lie down with these - even on my soft pillow. The band goes across the back of your head and there is a little space between the band and your head, so if you lie down, it pushes on the band which moves the speakers forward and away from your ear. And I have tinnitus as well, but I just sleep w/o device assistance. I know many others with the malady cannot.

While these can be used while lying down or sleeping, it's possible the headband near the back of the neck may interfere with lying down on the back. The OpenFit Air or OpenFit may be better in this case, as they have no headband at all. Please reach out to our Customer Happiness Team if you have any other questions. Thank you!
