Yes if you plug your ears you can still hear the music or sounds though the bone conducting. This is my second year with them and I love them, they work well for multitasking and activitys for runs, cycling or for just work .

YES! Never thought about it, but just tried and I still hear the music. what the...? I love these things and buying another pair for my GF.
