You are able to play karaoke CDs (aka CDGs) as well as the ability to play regular music CDs. Your question asked if you are able to hook your cell phone inside the MP3 player. This machine does not have an MP3 player. If you want to use your cell phone, the model includes Bluetooth technology that allows you to pair your cell phone to the karaoke machine, and play music from your cell phone.
