“Do you need a special cd or can you play any cd with this singing machine”

You can use normal discs on this unit. However, for viewing lyrics you need to use CD-G discs.

Hello Ms. Cathy, With this particular model we recommend using karaoke discs. However, you should be able to use any discs for audio, the karaoke discs are mostly used if you want to see the lyrics on a tv screen.
