These do allow for that, it's something like a short press long press will trigger ambient mode that allows for the mic to pick up noise around you and ignore noise canceling . I did not find these near as good as some of the other brands such as galaxy or even jabra elites. Sounds quality is fine, battery life , fit, mic were bad. Spend a few extra bucks and enjoy yourself more.
