The Airpods come already charged, but I would charged them for a couple of hours until the light is green. You charge the case and you can placed them inside the case and they become charged in a few minutes. I have use one of them and when is discharged I place it in the can and it becomes charged. I always carry the small case with me along with USB cable in case I need to charge the case. So I never had any problems with my Airpods not been charged or can use them because they discharge. I am so pleased with them.
