“When you first charge them do you need to turn on so it chareges or leave off and charge it? When turn on after charging is the light supposed to blink bank and forth between red and blue?”

Hi Em, well based on my usage, it shouldn't, blink back and forth, once you connect it, the red light must stay solid all the way till full battery charge, once it has reached 100%, it should turn into a solid blue light, letting you know that it has reached full charge. I haven't seen it blink the way you describe it. Hope this helps you with your question.
