I had same issue. Contacted Skullcandy support. They said not to touch them for 24 hours, then charge for 10 minutes, disconnect, then press all 3 buttons simultaneously for 30 seconds (to reset them somehow); then try them. That did not work for me so I returned them to Best Buy for another set. Same thing happened. I eventually replaced them with a product from a different manufacturer (which still works great) Wish I could tell you something more positive.
