Depends on the kind of noise. For the most part it blocks noise well except for voices and loud bangs though when you play music at a somewhat high volume you pretty much can’t hear anything had people shout at me to test it and I couldn’t hear them over the music and noise cancelling.

Not really, I work in a loud data center and it doesn't cancel out the sounds of the server's but it can get pretty loud.

If you turn the volume up loud enough anything is noise cancelling.
