Most new homes made from 1987 (like mine) come with a 220 line for the dryer. I do believe that is the standard code from 1987 forward. So if your house was buit from 87 on, it should have the 220 line already installed wherethe original dryer was installed. If you have a friend that has a voltage neter, he could check the voltage to be sure. Good Luck.
