Is this canister full or empty? null

It is my understanding this is the bottle you make your beverage in. Just stainless steel not plastic like what normally comes with your kit

When you buy a carbonating system, the bottle should be full. When empty, you exchange for a full tank at Best Buy, or on line. I've bought a second tank so I don't run out.

This is an empty bottle, not a canister of compressed air

Empty, until filled with very cold water , after carbonating add flavor base
