Dunno if you figured this out by now, but I’m going to assume you have one half of your system wired backwards (black/red reversed on the amp) and since the sub uses both channels for bass, when it’s balanced output the bass signals are cancelling each other out, but when it’s panned left or right it’s giving the left or right bass signal.
