Hi, Thank you for your question. Tilting the woofer does not change the overall mounting depth of the MAG6R speaker. The woofer pivots within the speaker assembly, so it will not protrude farther into the ceiling cavity when aimed. You will still want to follow the published mounting depth requirement for the speaker and make sure there is adequate clearance inside the ceiling cavity before installation.
