Hi, Thank you for your question. Yes, the Sonance VX42R can be installed in a ceiling that contains attic insulation. The speaker is designed for in-ceiling use and can safely contact standard insulation materials such as fiberglass or cellulose. We do offer an optional retrofit backbox that can be installed on the back of the speaker to provide additional protection and ensure consistent acoustic performance when insulation is present.
