“If the Samsung TV is connected via the ARC HDMI channel, will the Samsung remote be able to control the volume of the Sonos system or will I still have to use the Sonos app to control volume? This is my big Sonos complaint.”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the volume control should be passed through the HDMI that is attached to the TVs ARC-port and the soundbar's ARC-port. not all HDMI cables are ARC compatible. Make sure you use the provided cable or one that is ARC compatible.

So, you can use the tv remote your tv comes. If you have a tv that doesn't have ARC, our products learn your IR remote with a simple set up that takes less than a minute. All you have to do is press volume + and - 3x's and mute 3x's. That's it. So: Tv has ARC = Automatically will work with your IR remote No ARC = Simple three button set up.
