If i understan your question correctly, the sound bar does connect via HDMI/Audio/ARC port. But the rest of the spealers go through your WiFi and the phone App. The Sonos App is key to set up and you add each speaker via the app and home WiFi

If you'd like to play the same thing through your receiver, you can with the Sonos Port. It will allow you to group them together wirelessly to play the same thing at the same time.
