It is definitely an invasion of privacy, and even worse than that it is another example of a company that feels it is acceptable to sell you a product and then continue to insert itself in how you use a product that you “own.” The only purpose is to gather data about you, which they then sell to a third party company, which the typically uses it for very unsavory purposes.
