• I would not recommend it as it his not made for long term outdoor use. I would recommend the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance for long term outdoor use or the Sonos Move portable speaker that you can bring in and out when you need it. The Sonos Outdoor by Sonance would be your best bet because they are Weatherproof so the speakers are engineered to withstand humidity, water, salt spray, heat, UV rays, and freezing temperatures. • This speaker if placed under a covered Patio could still work but it's IPX rating is not meant for this outside use. If you want outside speakers for outside of your home under a patio your best bet is the Sonos outdoor patio speakers that have been developed by sonance for the sonos AMP. That or the Sonos Play 5 can be played outside as well in a covered patio area and sounds pretty awesome.
