• Yes, Sonos products connect to your existing wifi to "find" each other without the need for additional items. Just use your Sonos App to control all the speakers.

• Yes,go to the app and go to add a speaker and it will guide you.The playbar can play upstairs and you can play something different in the downstairs.The app will ask you where you want to put each sonos in what room.

• Yes you can.. The Sonos app let's you operate as many speakers as long you are connected through your wifi device... Everything controled through your smartphone device as you do with your playbar

• Yes. You give each Sonos a name on your Sonos App. Then simply decide which speaker(s) you want to group for Music or for TV or all.

• Yes u can, I have the sub, & sound bar. And just bought the play5, and I can use it w/ the others or w/o. Just in the sonos app label them differently, then u can also play them at the same time. Listening the the same thing, or different things at once. But as I found out, if u want the play 5 as rear speakers for surround sound, u will need 2 of them.

• Yes, Sonos allows you to assign each piece to a different room during the set up process. Or, it can be done later. If you have already set your system up and need to re-assign speakers to different rooms, simply delete them, and then start the set up process again, assigning to the correct rooms. Nothing else needs to be purchased!
