• I don't believe there is for the general Sonos setup, but... apparently their home theatre products work on 5 GHz and connecting a Playbase to a router by cable is supposed to establish as good or better a "Sonos Net" Network for your whole system as the Sonos Boost does.

• Not that I've seen. No need for it. Unless you've got a bunch of cordless phones and baby monitors jamming up your 2.4 signal.

• Not that I was able to determine about a year ago when we hooked up our router. We have a dual band, one being the 5GHz which we originally setup to use with the speakers and realized that wasn't going to work so its been on the 2.4GHz with no issues.
