The raw line out is not controlled. It's the signal that usually goes to a tape deck for recording. If your amp has volume and equalizer controls then you could run the line out to it via the RCA plugs. If it doesn't I think what you are looking for is a preamp.

The current line of Sony receivers do not have a tape monitor loop. For this reason, it is not possible to connect an add-on equalizer/external amp to current Sony AV receivers. Hope this helps! -Sam
