I don't see why you couldn't. I'm using a 20 year old Yamaha AV receiver & 11 year old Sony blu ray player. They work fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have successfully connected and used a 20 year old Mitsubishi VCR to my Sony Bravia. I did have to purchase an RCA to HDMI converter to make it work because the VCR only had RCA connectors and the Sony Bravia has no RCA connectors. None the less it works and I am successfully watching old VCR movies and tapes I have owned for years. There is no indication regarding the age of your Pioneer Elite AV Receiver but I would believe it will work. The one issue I encountered when connecting my Yamaha AV receiver is with the sound. Had to feed the sound from the TV to the amplifier but according to the internet this is an issue inherent with Yamaha AV receivers and not the Sony Bravia and once I identified and deployed the solution referenced on the internet it all works beautifully together.
