A:AnswerThanks all for the replies. I was able to solve this. Turned out that the RCA/RCA cable that worked fine with a Samsung TV and the same VHS player and cable adapter did not work with this Sony. Replaced the RCA cable with an identical one and things are working :)
A:AnswerIt appears as if it lasted about 3 years before the mainboard failed. The board was replaced by the Geek Squad, but it still failed after two weeks. The set was ultimately replaced.
