No it works very well with Direct stream

It also has preinstalled streaming apps with the option to add more apps via the Google Play Store app. At minimum, the Internet download speed should be greater than 15Mbps for 4K streaming. Some companies recommend at least 25 Mbps. 4K cable boxes can also be connected to the HDMI ports of the TV. Please note that 4K quality will depend on the source content.
