The standard for atsc 3.0 is regulated, so all tvs adhering will have similar reception sensitivity. Your reception signal ability of your antenna is more a determining factor than the tv, so long as the tv manufacturer assures their logic is consistent with published nextgen standards. Most markets today still receive atsc 1.0 signals. The tuner in this tv is backwards compatible and will work with current broadcast signals. When signals in atsc 3.0 start broadcasting, you should inherently get better reception via more robust data transmission codecs that atsc 3.0 has implemented better than atsc 1.0 which is broadcast today.

Many HD channels and content are actually upscaled versions of standard-definition broadcasts. The picture is affected by the quality of the signal received, which varies between channel and program.
