Hi Al, If you are asking if you can connect this TV to an external surround sound system such as a soundbar or receiver system, the answer is yes! If your external device supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) or eARC ( Enhanced Audio Return Channel) you can use that for the best sound quality and control. The X85J also has a digital optical out that can be used. I hope this helps. -Vincent
