“I want to use my Roku, not google tv, (and I don't have cable) so if I set this up under "basic" will the TV still be able to update its firmware automatically? Or can this only be done by setting up with a Google account? Thank you.”

Im sure u can still connect roku on it because I've connected a fire tv cube on my bravia and the tv still updated

Hi Allison, Thank you for your interest in the A80J. Yes, if you choose Basic TV when you set up your Google TV, you can still use the Automatic software download function. To enable Automatic System Software Download, press the Help button - Select Status & Diagnostics - Select System Software Update - Select Automatically check for update. If the Automatically check for update setting is set to ON, your TV checks whether there's any new software available to download when your TV is on, or when it's connected to the internet.
