Bad answer from Sony. I got the correct and straight forward answer from google. Sony does not provide for double exposures but Nikon, Canon and most other manufacturers do. This is a second major disappointment from Sony. Now that I know the straight answer and I know that Sony has decided to leave those of us who were long-standing Minolta-Sony customers who invested lots of money in their A mount gear, I believe it is time to abandon Sony. Cannot wait to get my new and more consumer useful gear. There will be a glut in the market soon for used Sony equipment, and for the first time, at very reasonable prices. I hope all potential new camera equipment buyers are aware of the Sony attitude.
