“I haven't had luck with getting the right setting on my Sony a5100 for photos. Can anyone recommend the best standard setting for taking gorgeous photos? I'm in the Beauty industry and events looking to capture momen along with blogging. Please help. Thx”

You should invest in lens. The kit lens has nice bokeh zoomed in but to get the most out of this sensor On the camera id recommend trying out the sigma 30mm f 1.4 or the sigma f 1.4. For blogging looking into the 16 and the 30 is good for portraits check out some reviews on YouTube to see what th best lens are for what your needs are.
