I may be wrong but from what I’ve read the internal time keeping continue but does not display in a power outage. Means when power comes back on the clock doesn’t have to be reset.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There's no switch for battery backup. It's automatic. Do you have a battery icon on the front of your clock? If so, then it needs to be changed and reset. If you're still within the return period, I suggest taking it back and finding a different clock. This one does not keep time well.
