Yes, the battery is included. I predominantly use mine to shoot continuous 4K video, and can get up to 52 minutes before the battery dies. I would venture to guess you could get thousands of still pictures on a full battery.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the Sony brand battery is included. It can take many still photos but runs low with video. I think it is a good idea to buy an extra battery and maybe a separate charger. I found two off brand batteries and the charger on eBay for $15. It is easy to accidentally turn on the camera and run out the battery, so I also bought the Sony case that snaps on the camera to prevent that. Have fun!
