Yes, I use them with my 55 inch Samsung TV. I am not positive but I do believe that you can use them at the same time your wife is listening to the regular sound of the TV. You cannot use a Bluetooth connection on a soundbar and the headphones at the same time. It is one or the other with a Bluetooth connection.
