• If your laptop supports bluetooth media, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

• Yes, It will work with your Macbook Pro because I use it for my 2009 Macbook Pro when I watch movies on either iMac or Macbook Pro. You just need to pair it via bluetooth. Also you can learn it by watching on the Youtube channel how to pair with Sony XB950BT to Mac... Hopefully, that answer your question!
