“I realize the JBL boombox only has 75 watts but which of these is better like is this really that loud I have only heard the Boombox and is this waterproof in other words how does it compare besides being a lot more watts a lot bigger an twice the weight.”

I researched plenty before making my choice. I think the JBL has more voice and sound clarity but the Sony has the boom!!! The bigger size allows you to feel the bass much much more than the JBL. Just used it last week for Thanksgiving along with some karaoke and it was amazing. But nothing can relate to you going in person to hear it live. I recommend doing that. I felt like it needed to be a little louder.

The Sony on the other hand has karaoke mode and the lights are amazing. On a chill volume I feel the boombox has deeper bass and clarity. But if you turn them both up the Sony will drown the boombox out. Sony is a better speaker for a large area or a party. But I am outdoors a lot and like the mobility of the boombox. Both great speakers though.
