“I purchased the Sony HT-Z9F from BB.It is connected to a LG TV. My cable box is connected to HDMI 1. When everything is turned on ( Cable box remote has been setup to control tv), TV Cable Box and HT-Z9F turn on but default input is HOME instead of HDMI 1”

Need to see if your TV has eArc input. Also need to make sure that you are using HDMI 3.1 cables. Cheaper cables aren't able to carry the speed needed to work properly.
