I SAVED AN HDMI PORT BY USING THE OPTICAL OUT CORD. AND MY REMOTE DTV WORKS MY SOUND AND TV .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not like having my cable box (Xfinity X1) and Xbox One X connected via the HDMI connections on the soundbar. You are correct as the Xfinity remote was very limited with this set up. I ended up,using an optical cable as I was not happy with remote functions using the HDMI ARC connection. I also found a 3-4 second delay before my sound came through after my television was turned on when using the HDMI ARC input. My other issue using HDMI ARC was that every time I turned my televion off and then on the next time I went to use it, the soundbar would default back to a different input and not to the HDMI input. It was very frustrating! I have since changed my set up to only use the optical cable input and I have had no problems. My Xfinity remote controls my cable box, television and soundbar with no issues, not so when using HDMI ARC. Otherwise, this was s a fantastic sounding 3.1 system.
