This unit requires to be either connected via Bluetooth to the audio source or to have a physical connection via the audio IN port from the headphone jack of your source. If your soundbar is capable of acting as a Bluetooth transmitter then it can send the signal to the portable speaker, but if it doesn't have that capability it will not be possible unless you use the audio out port of the main audio source.
