Yes. It is just scaled down to your resolution such as 1080p.

Just attach the FDR-AX100 to your regular HD TV with a HDMI cable and enjoy the video. I have done this with mine and it works just fine.

You can simultaneously record in MPEG4. So you can watch on nearly any device with lesser resolution until you can catch up on your TV.

Yes, but will not show up as a 4k quality picture/video. But it is being recorded at a higher resolution and looks great on non 4k tvs.

4K recorded videos, in XAVC S format, can only be played on TVs that supports this format. -Vincent

Unfortunately you can only play 4k videos on 4k devices.
I recommend changing the record quality to 1080.
Eventually your next Tv will be 4k so just be patient.
