• Should work fine unless your old speakers have a low efficiency rating below 90db or so…

• Hi Hendawg, thank you for your inquiry. This Sony Receiver has 5 audio inputs (RCA inputs), so if your Yamaha CD changer support RCA audio connection then it should definitely work with this receiver. And yes, you can also connect your old-school speakers. Please make sure to connect speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. Hope this helps! -Sam
