Yes you can - if they are 8 ohm speakers. Many vintage speakers had either screw terminals, or the "RCA" type input jacks. These were were still 8 ohm, and you would solder the speaker wire to an RCA plug. Keep polarity correct - I always used the center pin as positive, so phasing was correct.

I would recommend connecting speakers using speaker cables with the polarities + (red)/– (black) matched between the receiver and the speaker.
