Hi Clueless, thank you for your inquiry. It will all depend on the turntable that you will purchase. Some turntables can be connected directly to a speaker and some have to be connected to an AV receiver first. If you're interested on this receiver, the STRDH190 supports a Phono Input to connect your turntable. I would recommend checking out the PSLX310BT turntable to pair with the STRDH190 receiver.
