Hi JoeS, Thanks for your inquiry. We only recommend connecting speaker cables with the polarities + (red)/– (black) matched between the receiver. We cannot suggest double wiring as we cannot guarantee its operation. Please refer to this link for setting/connecting speakers: https://support.am.sony.com/release/Manual_4726907131.pdf (page 13) Hope this helps! -Sam

Firstly, not sure why you would need to double wire as you can input wires for four speakers, 2 sets of two speakers, left (A) and right (B) for each set. Secondly, if you have an ohm tester, with a small battery connected to one wire, test your wires at the other end with the meter for current so you can run it + to +, - to -, etc. With four colors of wire as you mention, you can probably forego this step. This receiver permits independent use of one set of speakers A, a second pair of speakers, B, or using both sets simultaneously, A/B. That’s why I wouldn’t think you need to “double wire”. We have 2 pairs of speakers, one pair in the living room and a second pair in the family room, so four speakers altogether. So we can use the living room only, the family room only, or both sets together. Hope this helps. Good luck!
