Try a new needle cartridge on your phono player. If that doesn't work, invest in a new phono player.

To resolve this issue, If you connect a turntable with a PHONO/LINE switch, make sure that the PHONO/LINE switch on the turntable is set to PHONO (page 17 of the operating instructions) REF: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4726/f63b8edb2b154409daa55875111f95e4/47269071M.pdf. To ensure optimal listening experience, please make sure you're using the supplied PHONO cables with *grounding wires. * If your turntable has a grounding terminal, connect the grounding wire. You can also adjust the volume level of the device connected to PHONO IN jacks by going into the receiver's settings “PH.OFFSET” (Phono volume offset).
