Yes, you have the option to play speaker A, Speaker B, or both.

Yes. You can isolate either speaker location. You can have either a working A, or B, or both. I believe in the manual, it tells you to not shut both of them down at once but to have at least one section active all the time. However, if you decide to use the earphone jack, then both A & B are cut out. This feature I didn't care for as I would have like not only have the speakers in A&B stay active while utilizing the earphone jack.
