Hi there, Unfortunately, You can only connect speakers with impedance of 6 to 16 ohms. When matching speakers and Audio/Video (A/V) receivers, the ohm rating of the speaker should be equal to or greater than the ohm rating of the receiver. -Sam

The reason they don't rate this unit for 4 ohm speakers is because you can use 4 speakers at once with A+B mode. 4 8 ohm speakers would be the equivalent of running two 4 ohm speakers, and 4 4 ohm speakers would be the equivalent of running two 2 ohm speakers which would likely cause problems, so if you are only running two speakers you should be fine. If you need 4 speakers, you need to have 6 ohm or higher. Hope this helps.
