Well I’ve never attempted that but I would say yes because you are not hooking power source to power source right. Your speakers supply power so you do not want to hook to speaker output because it supplies power. Tape runs both reel to reel and cassette decks both of which really deliver little power but, I would simply hook to headphone jack.
