“I have an older surround sound system in house will this unit work with it, our old unit gave up it was an am/fm with multi disc cd player changer. What disc player would you recommend to go with the sony reciever you list above?”

I did exactly this and it works perfectly. I has a 30-year-old stereo that had been hooked to my full house speaker system and it finally gave out. This unit now sends music to every speaker in the house again. Sorry, no recommendations on a CD player.

If the speakers from your older surround sound system can be connected via spring clip terminals and has an impedance rating between 6-16 ohms, then it should work with this receiver. Note: To check the impedances of the speakers, check the back of the speakers or the supplied manual. Sony no longer manufacture stand alone CD disc player. But you can connect any CD player that has an RCA/component audio jacks. Hope this helps! Every component in the STR-DH190 has been designed for detail and clarity.
