A:AnswerHi RichK,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Sony products.
The Sony SA-CS9 active subwoofer cannot be connected wirelessly to the STR-DH590 receiver. To connect the subwoofer, you will need an audio cable. Specifically, you should use an RCA cable to connect the active subwoofer to the Subwoofer Output on the receiver's jacks. This connection will allow the subwoofer to function correctly with your receiver.
Best regards,
- Stephanie
A:AnswerNO, Not without an external speaker switching device. This receiver does not have A & B speaker selection for multi room use. It is designed for high quality 6 speaker single room stereo and theater surround use.
If you choose to use an external speaker switching device be sure to contact Sony for compatibility as this setup may void your factory warranty, donno.
A:AnswerSorry, but your "AudioMan" handle simply does not coincide with this question. Not trying to be rude but your question is not accurate and does not make any sense. Thanks
A:AnswerHave someone who is familiar with this type of receiver and setup check your connections, wiring, speakers and settings for you before you determine that it is defective.
I have a Sony receiver in my spare bedroom that I purchased in the 90s and it works great in 2025.
A:AnswerI used some Samsung speakers worked great with this unit. I had to buy a different subwoofer, difference between a passive and active subwoofer.
A:AnswerAbsolutely. Klipsch speakers are well known for having a very high audio output sensitivity of as much as 94 decibels or more at 1 watt 1 meter. That means you could have a 25 watt RMS receiver push these speakers beautifully with as much volume as the average party dancer would want . Enjoy
